Child Safety Policy

At ArtXecute, the well-being and protection of every child entrusted to our care is our highest priority. We are committed to providing a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where children and youth can explore the arts, develop their talents, and grow with confidence.

Our Commitment

  • Safe Environment: We maintain an atmosphere where all participants feel respected, valued, and free from harm.

  • Zero Tolerance: We have zero tolerance for any form of abuse, neglect, or exploitation. Concerns are taken seriously and acted upon promptly.

  • Compliance: We adhere to all applicable child protection laws and best practices for organizations serving minors.

Safeguarding Practices

  1. Staff & Volunteer Screening

    • All instructors, staff, and volunteers undergo background checks.

    • References and professional histories are verified before engagement.

  2. Training & Awareness

    • Team members receive training on child safety, mandatory reporting, and recognizing signs of abuse or neglect.

    • Staff are instructed on maintaining safe, professional boundaries with students.

  3. Supervision

    • Children are always supervised by trained adults during classes, rehearsals, and performances.

    • One-on-one interactions are minimized and, when necessary, take place in open, observable spaces.

  4. Communication & Online Safety

    • Direct electronic communication between staff and minors is not permitted outside of official ArtXecute platforms.

    • Parents and guardians are included in communications whenever appropriate.

  5. Safe Physical Spaces

    • Rehearsal and performance venues are regularly reviewed for safety and accessibility.

    • Emergency procedures and first aid measures are in place at all events.

Reporting Concerns

  • Any concerns about the safety or well-being of a child must be reported immediately to ArtXecute leadership.

  • Reports can be made confidentially by contacting Barbara Jones by phone at 919-584-5036 or via email at ArtXecuteWayne@gmail.com.

  • In accordance with North Carolina law, suspected abuse or neglect will be reported to the appropriate authorities.

Partnership with Parents & Guardians

We believe child safety is a shared responsibility. Parents and guardians are encouraged to:

  • Stay engaged with their child’s participation in ArtXecute programs.

  • Communicate with staff about any concerns.

  • Reinforce with their child the importance of speaking up if they ever feel unsafe.

Review & Accountability

This policy is reviewed annually by ArtXecute’s leadership and Board of Directors to ensure compliance with evolving best practices in child protection.

Together, we create not only outstanding performances but also a safe stage for every child’s growth, creativity, and success.
